Security at SwiftPlus
How SwiftPlus protects school data - encryption, access controls, audit trails and availability.
Encryption in transit
All traffic between your browser and SwiftPlus is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). School data is never transmitted in plain text.
Role-based access control
Every user has a defined role - teacher, bursar, director of studies, administrator - and sees only what their role permits. Accounts can be frozen and permissions reviewed at any time.
Audit trails
SwiftPlus records an activity log of actions taken in the system, so administrators can see who did what and when.
Secure authentication
Access to SwiftPlus uses authenticated sessions. Passwords are never stored in plain text, and session security follows current web best practice.
Cloud hosting and availability
SwiftPlus is cloud-hosted, so schools do not run their own servers. The platform is designed for the connectivity conditions of Ugandan schools, including low-bandwidth operation.
Backups
School data is backed up so records can be recovered in the event of failure. Schools also retain access to exported reports and statements.
